  3rd Place Winner Joanne Miller
Quilt Name: Garden Club

My husband saw this pattern made up and immediately bought the patterns and fabric for my Christmas 2006. I started it on the 26th by cutting and appliquéing with machine embroidery. I worked 5 hours daily until done on 5/8/2007. Batting is too heavy but I hand quilted it anyway.

2nd Place Winner Joanne Miller

I chose to make my Underground Railroad in Christmas prints rather than Civil War prints. I like to do hand quilting; thus it took quite a while to complete. The story of these quilt blocks is found on the back of this wall hanging which hangs on the wall above my table.

Challenge Quilt - "Pieces of Christmas Joy"

1st Place Winner Nancy Pardue
Quilt Name: Eleven Patch Christmas Tree

I was traveling through Iowa and stopped at an Antique Mall where I saw a collection of old, badly worn quilt pieces. As I looked through them I found a pieced "Red Star" and many 1/2 pieced hexagons with green borders. Laying them out I said, "Here is my piece of Christmas Joy". I used all eleven pieces to make this quilt. I embellished the tree with candles, yo-yos, and buttons. Eleven Patch Christmas Tree won 1st place at the 2009 Putnam County Fair.

Quilt Name: Poinsetta Wreath

This was a section of a larger bed quilt from a Fons and Porter book from 1998. I just made this new for the quilt challenge. It's never been shown before. This is my first entry in the Upper Cumberland Quilt Festival.
